The materials and fit of this tripod are very good. The legs fold easily and are securely fixed with a characteristic click. The triggers are solid and have no play. The male and female screws are metal and are easy to tighten. To achieve the height, you can either use the telescoping feature on your feet, or screw on a selfie stick and use the telescoping feature on it, or both for really tall shots. The tripod has a rotating ball under the platform that the camera rests on, so you can tilt and rotate it in almost any direction, and the thumbscrew holds it in place very securely with very little pressure. The only two issues I have with a tripod are with the selfie stick: the lever that locks the camera holder in place at the end of the stick feels a little loose, and although it does hold the camera (or phone) it does seems secure, when it snaps it seems like it could disengage fairly easily causing the mount to fall off, although I haven't had that yet. The only other issue I have with the tripod is that the phone mount that comes with it isn't big enough for my phone so luckily I had one from my old tripod so I didn't have to buy anything extra. Overall this is a good tripod, perhaps one of the best. For $40 if you don't use your tripod often, you can find a cheaper aluminum version. but if you use it a lot like me, you won't be able to beat it.
