Comfortable even if you know how to sew

I have been using Stitch Witchery for many years, both for art projects and general sewing purposes. Besides crafting, I use it to attach badges/patches, trim curtains, and adjust the edges of clothing. This should be every student's "sewing kit" (along with safety pins!) - it can be a lifesaver for people who don't know how to use a needle and thread. I get the best results using a very hot iron with steam. I've also used a damp cloth between the iron and the garments I'm fixing. Stitch Witchery is starting to melt pretty quickly, but don't stop typing at this point! If you want a good seal that will last through the wash cycle you will need to fully heat (melt) this product - be sure to use a fabric buffer if you are concerned about burning the fabric. Alternatively, if you need to do a very temporary emergency repair, just heat it up a bit until it sticks, and you can probably "peel off" the fabric later if you need to. My only star is that Stitch Witchery seems to make the fabric a little less flexible. Depending on what you're hemming it might not matter, but I don't like the slight stiffness in flowy skirts and dresses (gets better after washing). No problem on curtains, tablecloths or handicrafts.
