Our family lives in a small house, there are noisy active children and a one-year-old child. Sound devices help muffle voices, music, etc., but closing doors quickly or abruptly (not even slamming them) can still wake a sleeping one-year-old. These cushions prevent the metal parts of the door handles from touching and prevent slamming. They help my one year old sleep better which means I can relax and not feel like running after the big kids to remind them to close the doors quietly. They are easy to put on and take off, so I even take them with me when I travel. I should have bought them a year ago when I had a newborn! Just a note: the doors cannot be locked with it. In some cases this is a plus.
