After my friend recently lost his second dog (too young) to heart disease, his vet said it could possibly be due to a diet lacking in key ingredients like taurine, an amino acid that causes heart disease can cause. I went to Google to read, discover and search for other dog foods and came across this one, Instinct. I have the same breed of dog and I find it important to better understand what my dogs need. My vet said early heart disease in dogs could be caused by a deficiency in an amino acid called taurine. There is a lot of interesting information out there that makes me wonder if I should feed my dogs strictly grain free and since my dogs are perfectly grain tolerant I choose grain. Finding grain-free dog food wasn't easy! So far so good for us, my dogs love it and I'm feeling better after doing some research. And I started feeding my dogs veggies as treats - they love all the new options!
