I bought these for track lighting (with Cooper RF9540 dimmers in case anyone is interested). These are arguably the best bulbs I've tried as they dim very well to almost no flicker and they mimic the look of traditional dichroic halogen bulbs well. In almost every way these lights look great, especially when you use lights that show off the bulb itself. The only problem is that they seem too sensitive to dimming and therefore flicker slightly even at a constant dimming level. and disabled effect. This makes it painfully clear that the lamps respond to changes in brightness instantly (within a full AC cycle I would guess) and not smoothly like a conventional lamp. This is a little annoying when working with a dimmer as the brightness jumps in small increments rather than evenly, but it also causes a very slight flicker as I assume it's line noise. LED bulbs, which respond more evenly to changes in brightness, are able to hide these slight fluctuations, but these and other bulbs, which respond faster than incandescent bulbs, produce a very slight erratic flicker effect that's annoying enough.
