This thing really ticks all the boxes of Olympus. Although the quality of the photo is so-so. It's never a good idea to take 12-megapixel photos, so I went with an 8-megapixel photo. As with many high-resolution cameras today, the lens isn't good enough to capture detail - what do you expect from a $200 waterproof camera? However, you can increase the digital zoom even further and the video will turn out great. Unfortunately, the video format isn't standard and doesn't work with anything or any software I've found so far. I am sure they will fix this at some point. Other problems. Battery life is very poor, but I found a couple of higher capacity compatible batteries on Revain that were very cheap (e.g. 2 for under $10), so I'd suggest just buying a spare. The menus are a bit confusing and it might initially feel like you're limited and the camera can't do certain things, but it's actually possible once you figure out why certain features are limited in certain modes. The camera has a very useless message like "Not Supported" that comes up but doesn't explain why the mode you're trying to select isn't supported. To understand this, you need to carefully read the online instruction manual, but don't give up, and you will understand everything. Besides, I'm very happy with it. It won't replace my land camera, but it's great for snorkeling, boating, and swimming. Here's a video I shot in Maui last week. You will need to cut/paste this in the browser as Revain will not recognize it as a link. [.]
