Excellent and powerful "real " camera. great for kids too!

Excellent! Works perfectly. Great picture, great video. It is easy to use and durable. I bought it for my 7 year old son. I looked at childproof cameras but they were plastic or poor quality and rarely used. We were planning a trip to Sea World and found this camera to be perfect. It can be submerged in water, even salt water, and withstands smaller drops. It's a really solid camera (which can handle even a clumsy person like me). Now other family members want to have their own!

Lost and Found Digital Cameras

I borrowed this camera from a friend before a cruise vacation. Unfortunately I lost my camera during a sea/beach excursion. The story of how I lost my camera is the story of an angry woman who heard "I told you so" many times after dragging her into choppy/choppy water. found. The paintings are still intact. It has been in the sea for over 5 years and the memory card is still working. My rating is based on a replacement I bought after losing my original camera. The replacement is still working…

Camera works Great for a 3 year old

I bought this Olympus Stylus Tough 3000 for my 3 year old granddaughter to replace a 'toy' camera and was very happy with how well it worked. She. She has no problem turning it on or off or triggering the shutter. Positioning the lens in the top corner was a challenge at first, but she quickly learned to keep her fingers on the camera down. The image quality is very good, but the controls are not nearly as intuitive as the Canon cameras I use. However, I am very happy with the camera's…

Not what I expect from an Olympus

I bought this camera for an emergency vacation when my other Olympus had a scratch on the lens and I needed a quick replacement. I didn't have much time to research, but let me save you some time. * No lens cap. Which camera doesn't have a lens cap? *Battery life is HORRIBLE. I had to bring an old camera with a scratched lens because I didn't have enough batteries to take many pictures. better. I would not buy it again and would like to return it. Unfortunately this was through a third party…

Love the camera - hate the software!

We bought this camera because we can easily share it with our kids, snorkel and swim without worrying about moisture. He is doing a great job and we are very happy with the results. This is the perfect camera for this price range! However, I have big problems with the supplied software. It's very difficult to get out of this and I can't figure out how not to make it the default program that opens every time I insert a photo card or connect a camera. Somehow it got installed on both of my memory

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Normal camera. Amazing waterproof camera!

This thing really ticks all the boxes of Olympus. Although the quality of the photo is so-so. It's never a good idea to take 12-megapixel photos, so I went with an 8-megapixel photo. As with many high-resolution cameras today, the lens isn't good enough to capture detail - what do you expect from a $200 waterproof camera? However, you can increase the digital zoom even further and the video will turn out great. Unfortunately, the video format isn't standard and doesn't work with anything or any

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide

IT WORKS AS IT WAS DESIGNED.

I see a lot of reviews of this product from 'photographers' yapping about ISO settings and blah blah blah. That's the deal. If you're such a pro, why use a hundred dollar camera? For all you curtain jockeys revisiting hundred dollar cams, STOP PLAYING WITH THE SETTINGS! I bought a Stylus Tough 3000 AT PRICE to replace an aging Stylus 1030 SW. The 1030 SW is three years old and believe me it has been used in and out of pools, salt water, sand, drops etc. I've never taken it to Olympus for…
