I bought this, needing it to be no wider than 8inches (as it shows in the ad) HOWEVER, the ad didnt mention the extra almost 2 inches added to the width, caused by the brackets.

Not mad, just wasnt the actual space it would be taking up.But also, no worry. I pried out 5 slats, inserted the legs inside the ledges, and it fit perfectly! Because it was then only 8 inches wide ;)Didnt really affect my usage, but was a bit of a PITA.
