Review on 💧 Hydro Flask Water Bottle: Stainless Steel, Vacuum Insulated, Wide Mouth, Leak Proof Flex Cap - 18 oz, Graphite by Lindsay Law

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works great on ice, in the cold, and on the street!

I bought this thermos to use as a coffee and water bottle. Both work great! The ice stays in it for a long time. This morning I had ice cream from iced coffee for about 4-5 hours. That's impressive for an iced coffee in my opinion (it wasn't cold brewed. The hot espresso was infused with ice and milk). The ice from my igloo ice maker lasts about 6 hours in a thermos, but the water is STILL "icy" even after all the ice is gone after 12 hours. I find that the shorter time has more to do with the type of ice (they are small and have holes. It gets drinks super cold but they melt VERY easily). I didn't have a chance to test any other flavor of ice cream (other than iced coffee). The 18 oz will NOT fit my Keurig. I have a pod machine designed for an office or shop. It will not slide down even if the drip tray is removed. A 16 ounce cap will do. The cap is great and the most insulating of any cap Hydro Flask has to offer. To be honest, I was a bit scared of unscrewing the lid because some cups you drink from might drip a bit on the sides. The design of the thermos really prevents this. The wide mouth is at a high angle and the rim is "sharp" enough to make side drinking very easy. I appreciate that very much! I wouldn't take a kid's cap because if you put something cold or hot in it, it becomes very difficult to unscrew it. At least I have big problems with unscrewing. I have a feeling small hands will fight too! For little ones I would recommend a flip top or straw (you can buy different caps separately and swap them out for the same bottle).

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Too long to wait
