Works as advertised

It's been 2 weeks and so far so good. I've always been a big fan of MacSafe and this is MacSafe for your smartphones, bonus: the same cable works for both iPhone and Android. So if your significant other uses another phone, no problem, just plug the phones into their own. Magnetic plug and everyone is happy. Just bring the cable close to the magnet and let go, and BAM! who has time to squint and carefully insert a tin plug into the socket. Looking through a lot of complaints, do not force the magnetic adapter into the phone, if it is too difficult, something is wrong, the phone connector may need cleaning. I measured that this combination takes 500mA to charge my phone while the original cable draws 250mA, but I don't think it charges faster, but I didn't do any stopwatch measurements, sorry. In contrast to MacSafe, a green LED is always lit. I was concerned that the magnetic adapter might stick out too much on the phone, but it doesn't, it's tinny and meant to be left permanently plugged in and on. The braided cable is 3.4mm wide compared to my original Apple's 2.5mm, but it's softer than Apple's, but not as soft as I'd like and you can see the kinks. The advert seems to suggest 1 set of magnetic adapters per package, but no, 1 set of adapters per cable. So now I've supplied lots of spare adapters as I've bought extra cords for living room, bedroom and blah blah but 1 phone.

Pros
  • This is a simple but perfect solution to prevent fraying charging cables, tripping over a cable and breaking your phone, fiddling with connection cables in the dark and much more.
Cons
  • Bad instructions
