Review on Nathan StrobeLight for Running: The Essential LED Clip-on Safety Light for Night Runs, Winter Adventures, Hiking, and Walking by Talapon Blackburn

Much brighter than the previous generation, only needs a battery but no real 'flash'

UPDATE: I'm updating this because the lack of a strobe (or just a very fast strobe) means that they don't work doesn't work. , as I've found over time, command the same attention as the previous generation's "strobe" mode. Not only that, but the single battery (compared to 2 on the old model) doesn't really do much because it drains much quicker than the old models. They're okay, but I've looked around and stocked up on the old Sulfur Spring color model and hope they hold up until Nathan realizes their not-so-new headlights just aren't that good. I'm a little upset. this. I use the previous generation grey-green and I really like them. However one just failed and I decided to try these and they are better in almost every way: 1) They are much brighter with 3 "big" bulbs compared to 4 smaller ones. 2) They only take 1 battery compared to the old ones that use 2 and when they run the same time it's great to minimize consumption of disposable batteries. 3) They have 4 templates, not 3, so there is more choice. So what's not to love: the templates behave like the old "strobe" and I don't think they're that attractive. 2) I'm used to holding the button for a few seconds to toggle it on and off, but it definitely feels longer and annoying to do so. Maybe I should give this 5 stars because I will be switching to them immediately for the extra brightness.
