Very bright - Reflective gear

I have several of these lights for night running but they are also good for walking the dog or other outdoor nighttime activities. They are visible to cars from afar and can be seen from the side, although not as clearly. I use an alternating light pattern so the machines see the movement of the light and therefore me! Even gently pressing the button won't turn it off accidentally. I feel much more secure with them attached to my clothing.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Minor issues

Useless auxiliary light

I have been a runner all my life and have used many different safety lights. Although Nathan makes some good products, this particular light is useless because the LEDs are very dim and also because the flash is slow and doesn't draw attention. Other Nelson bulbs are brighter and have a high intensity flash. This particular model is a failure and apparently cannot be returned as the seller is wasting money. I would give zero if I could as there are other products that work and there is no room…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Not as good as previous versions. Still great!

Bright and high quality. Over the years someone at Nathan has made it difficult to turn them on and off. This latest version requires you to hold the button for 5 seconds before it turns on or off. The previous version was a little less time. And the version before that just clicked and it turned on. Also, flash speed/template is slower in this version. I really like the hyper flash that you got with the other versions. Btw I still have all three versions so they go with a stand that attaches…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Secret

Works well in very low light conditions

Compact little visibility lamp, very useful when you're running at night and want drivers to know you're around. Outperforms a basic safety vest, especially with a flashing pattern. Not so useful at dusk though - the light just isn't bright enough to draw much attention when the ambient light is still bright. It's not a big problem, but don't expect it to do anything too significant. The UI is pretty good - a long press ensures it almost never activates accidentally, it's easy to switch between

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Out of style

UPDATE: I'm updating this because the lack of a strobe (or just a very fast strobe) means that they don't work doesn't work. , as I've found over time, command the same attention as the previous generation's "strobe" mode. Not only that, but the single battery (compared to 2 on the old model) doesn't really do much because it drains much quicker than the old models. They're okay, but I've looked around and stocked up on the old Sulfur Spring color model and hope they hold up until Nathan…
