Installed them around our patio. The wiring appears to be rated for 115VAC so is quite heavy which might make it more durable but not very attractive. It is nice that it comes with 2 replacement LED bulbs. Just label them carefully so you don't screw those low-voltage bulbs into a regular lightbulb. The solar panel stays on all day (in the summer) and the light is always bright when I go to bed. Solar lights are more decorative than functional as a light source, but we were fine with that. The batteries built into the panel are standard AA rechargeables, which can be removed if necessary, but we didn't have a reason to. If you want the lights to turn on before it gets pretty dark, you'll have to close the panel to make it think it's dark. It would be nice if there was an easier way to force the lights on when needed.
