I originally got these leggings so my eldest son could have another one when he finally goes back to school. He tried it on and while he says it's not bad, he says his ears hurt. These gaiters have ear holes to make them comfortable to hold. However, these are mainly holes cut on the sides. I helped him put it on so he could see it well. As his ears went through the holes I could see that they were putting a lot of pressure on his ears and actually pulling them down. I can't imagine wearing this and having that feeling for 6-7 hours. I'm not saying you can't wear this without using the ear piercings. But the whole point of using these leggings was that he prefers the ones with the ear loops. These leggings are also thin and made of polyester. If you're worried about double layered gaiters or a filter pocket, then these gaiters aren't for you. It didn't bother me, hence my rating not because of that.
