Review on πŸ’‘ Brighten your Indoor Space with Philips 415398 Indoor 40 Watt Intermediate Bulb by Jack Herrera

Revainrating 3 out of 5

40W Phillips 415398 looks more like a narrow beam for demo has E17 intermediate base and R14 shape

mm 1. R14 is a 1.75 inch reflector. Warm 2800 K. Rated voltage 120 V. Dimmable: Yes, Brass thread: NO. Use a protective shield when lamp failure could be dangerous. Lifespan: 511 days at 3 hours per day. CHINA price paid in May 2020 $1.85. I'll update this when I get the early rejection noticed by others. good for accent or fill lighting in a shop window, but not bright enough for a task lamp and not the best choice to replace a high intensity Tensor lamp. It only emits 250 lumens, which is extremely inefficient at a power consumption of 40 watts. I use it in a goose sand lamp in the bedroom. This style is easier on the eyes when the lamp is in sight. At 110 volts it's pretty dark. Only at voltages above 125 V do they begin to emit usable work light. The mains voltage has a significant influence on the color temperature and intensity. Most of the energy is wasted generating a significant amount of heat, but that makes them suitable for small thermoset projects. I've been using R14 for decades. The quality isn't what it used to be. They should have brass threads to dissipate heat and prevent sticking, but they don't. Most likely you are buying these incandescent bulbs because they find LEDs unacceptable or require unlimited dimming. Alternative: FEIT 40W, two units #BP40511N/2. Philippines. Clear S11 spherical shape with high intensity. They are lighter, cheaper, but still of mediocre quality. They are very dimmable with a nice filament to use your table lamp as a night light.
