Bought after the fall when we accidentally moved the stove burner control and the gas leaked while we weren't in the room. Installed the thing next to the stove. Checked by starting the burner without ignition. The alarm goes off approximately 30 seconds after a gas leak. I would have preferred if the gas concentration reading wasn't so bright red when the reading is zero, but that doesn't matter. A large part of the requirement of a home is as a fire alarm.
