Review on Danner Women's 61284 Hiking Bronze Athletic Shoes: Stylish and Functional by Wanda Johns

I am a big fan of Danner work boots as I have a wide foot and narrow heel and they have always worked for me and last forever. I'm a field biologist and just broke my 3rd pair of work boots. I bought the first pair in 1996 and the second in 2006. Because the work boots fit my foot so well I approached Danner for a lightweight hiking boot and was thrilled when I received them. These shoes were met with positive reviews. They were comfortable when I put them on, felt better than my Merrills and are well made. They seemed a bit flat for my bows and if I didn't have other issues I would put in a different insert to fix this problem. My annoying problem is that I had the same problem I have with all hiking boots: my healing briefs caused an instant hot spot, and without moleskins there would be huge blisters; but i think its my foot problem not shoes! That's why I give 4 stars. I would also say if you get closer to 9 1/2 you will find that this shoe is a bit too small. I did a 9 mile hike and just had trouble with my healing. Unfortunately I can't go back because the shoes are already dirty. You can also see if this solves the healing problem with Danner hiking shoes.
