Review on Hamilton Beach 67608 Big Mouth Juice Extractor: Premium Stainless Steel (Discontinued) for Large Batches of Fresh Juice! by Oscar Colangelo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works fairly well and is easy to clean

I used an old Hamilton Beach narrow neck juicer and was frustrated with having to cut everything to fit the narrow neck and the difficulty of cleaning the machine . After a long search I decided on this puppy. I'm definitely not disappointed. Pros: Easy to clean Big mouth Makes a quick job of producing Cons: Big mouth Meat feels a lot moister than you would expect. Why did I specify the "Big Mouth" feature in both Pro and Con? OK, let me explain. The Big Mouth seems to be both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, that's good because you don't have to cut most things. I use these giant organic cucumbers that just fall in. To save time. On the other hand, it seems a little dangerous to put small items there. For example, I put these little pre-sliced carrots in there, and as soon as you put them in, and before you can use security tampering, they kind of pop up and make this sound like they're about to shoot. and/or cause damage to the machine. With a large mouth, they can jump freely. I might be being a little harsh here, but I think that's Big Mouth's fault. The other downside I listed is that the meat is very moist in my opinion. In fact, I could even go so far as to say that the pulp is a little wetter than my old Hamilton Beach model. And on a positive note, they actually improved the design of the machine to make it easier to clean. The screen is much better designed for easy cleaning, and they even include a brush, which has proven to be worth its weight in gold, to make cleaning easier.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Very expensive
