Like most Skil products I have had this is a very reliable unit. The engine in this device has a large torque and does not refuse to work. It lies almost perfectly in the hand and is well balanced. In a world of cheap Chinese imports, this is a brand that still sticks to the old school. The only problem I have with this drill in practice is the RPM. It is set to a fixed speed that is great for drilling. For projects involving screws, however, it's quite fast. A way to vary the RPM of the motor would make it much more useful. Batteries for these devices seem to be getting smaller and smaller. The included 2Ah lithium battery is fine for occasional use, but definitely won't last all day when you're working on a project. It has the same capacity as a 2000mAh cellphone battery, which is actually less than most cellphones these days. So I wonder why they bother to put an external USB adapter in the battery. If you need to use this battery to charge your phone in an emergency, it probably won't even charge the entire phone. By the way, this is another detail worth paying attention to. The USB adapter on the battery is NOT for charging the battery. It is designed to use the battery to charge other devices such as mobile phones or tablets. This could be a useful feature if the battery were much larger, but at just 2000mAh it's really not worth the hassle. As for the electronic level, I haven't used it yet. I actually only ordered this for the drill itself and couldn't use a level. If it works, that's a bonus though.
