I always have an American size 8.5 on all brands, so I bought 8.5 here. I started taking ballroom dancing classes at Fred Astaire's studio and wanted to look professional without spending over $100 on their line of dancing shoes. They were great to just walk in, but over time as I danced more, tried different shoes, learned more complex moves and figured out for myself what I want in a good dance shoe, I found that they were too big. . Same size as a street shoe, felt great walking and standing as there was a little more room in the toe box for my toes to spread out. This space isn't good when you're trying to roll over, shift your weight, or take big, dramatic steps. You want something snug - by snug I mean a hair's breadth from cutting off your circulation - so you have full control of the shoe and therefore your footwork. Overall excellent shoe quality. Everyone was jealous of my dazzling rose gold legs, including the disco ball. The heel is relatively large and sturdy, the stitching is strong, and the inside of the shoe is very comfortable. TL;DR: Take at least half a size smaller than your normal shoe size.
