A solid, no-frills Blu-ray player.
Purchased to replace an LG Blu-ray player that stopped working prematurely. I have had Phillips Blu-ray players before and they have always been reliable. This is a very simple model. But to be honest I only need it for two things - DVD playback and Blu-ray playback. I have a Fire TV for streaming and playing videos stored on a USB stick. This player is one of the few I've seen that is affordable, costing less than $50. All Sony and LG are either refurbished or overpriced. If you need a BR/DVD player and that's it, then great! It converts to 2160p (4k) but will NOT play UHD 4k Blu-ray discs.
