I have a ceiling mounted HD projector that will display video and audio from a Blu-Ray DVD player and must play a MacBook Pro connected to it via a 4-to-1 HDMI switch. I originally used an HDMI cable extension to get a good signal for a projector that was using two CAT-6 cables for work, but for some reason the signal degraded over time to the point where my setup stopped working. The projector doesn't sync to either device and only shows video with no audio when I set the DVD player to 480p and nothing with a MacBook Pro. I suspected that the HDMI switch I was using was attenuating the signal, but it still didn't work after replacing the switch with another brand, so I decided to try this signal booster. I connected it to the (far) end of the projector with a 3" HDMI cable and it solved all my problems straight away. It uses +5VDC from the HDMI cable (powered by the switch) and I don't even have to use an external outlet. I can now run 1080p on both devices at 60Hz. I love it!
