I wish I had read Wikipedia before I bought it. That would have saved me a refund. I just assumed melamine was something like Corelle - some kind of proprietary process, not a chemical name for some kind of plastic. The title actually uses the word 'safe', which in hindsight is a very unusual keyword for a platter. Good. It feels solid and definitely attractive.
