All right. I also bought a Mary Jane and I like it much better. They fit my foot quite a bit - they don't fit like flats, more like cheap socks sold to be worn with flats that are too big to see an inch, or they stick out with flats . on the. I had high expectations for ballet flats. They're still comfortable, durable, and have great traction, so I'll keep them to myself. I recommend Mary Janes instead, but only because of the worn look. In terms of functionality, I'm size 7 1/2 with flat feet, L fits great, not too tight and not too loose, but just right. The smell was barely noticeable to me but they are neoprene so expect smell. I have no complaints other than that I was expecting them to look a little different but they are still a nice lightweight slipper that gives support and still feels barefoot.
