The claim that whale lenses don't offer proper quality is made here, however in my opinion, this is untrue. I tried several, both with whales and without; the images' quality is essentially identical (in the opinion of an amateur, not a professional, although I have been photographing for more than 30 years). Photography, in my opinion, is more about the composition and idea of the frame than it is about looking for aberrations in the final photos. This camera more than justifies this objective at this cost. You must utilize monitors with calibrated color reproduction, or professional monitors, in order to ensure that there is no difference between the image on the preview and the computer monitor.
