The cover is not waterproof, so the foam insert can easily get dirty. The foam is also quite difficult to wash due to its size and takes quite a while to air dry, I have had to hand wash it several times and it was uncomfortable each time. I suggest getting a waterproof case if you're buying this for a pup. Otherwise, place the foam in a trash bag and seal the hole with tape to keep moisture out of the foam. So far it has helped reduce the amount I have to wash the foam pad with. And the cover still fits easily over the foam cushion covered with a garbage bag. It's affordable, the quality seems to be good in both the foam padding and the outer shell. The only problem is that it's not waterproof.
