Does what it's supposed to, but.

I covered some white roots with it, the only problem is that when I run my hand through my hair afterwards it gets my hand and everything I touch afterwards dirty . I once walked around with an ash stain on my forehead because I forgot I applied it and then ran my hand through my hair.
