Although ABS is listed as a compatible plastic on the packaging, several reviews unequivocally state that this product does not work with ABS. I'm glad I decided to take the risk. The small plastic tab holding the washing machine timer broke off and the washing machine became unusable. A full panel cover costs about $100, so I decided to glue the tab. My first try was with JB Weld Original because I had that on hand. That does not work. I carefully scraped off all the dried glue with a sharp pocket knife and ordered a JB Weld PlasticWeld while the laundry piled up in the bathrooms and on the bedroom floor. Once the glue was in my hands, I cleaned the plastic parts thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and let them dry while I mixed the JB Weld PlasticWeld. I applied a thin film with a toothpick and secured the tab by pressing down with a clean toothpick for a few minutes until it snaps into place. Because it was such a small piece with such an important job, I added some more glue and gently spread it over the seam, hoping it would strengthen it. Then I let it dry for 48 hours. I know the package says one hour, but this is my last chance to get out of this cheaply, so I'll be patient. This morning I reinstalled the timer and then reinstalled the control panel cover. I held my breath as I reattached the timer skirt (so far so good), then the timer dial. I was still holding my breath and pushed the button to turn the timer to start the washing machine and it held! I'm on my fifth boot of the day now and it's working like new. The moral of the story is: trust the manufacturer, not a disgruntled customer who may or may not have followed the instructions. This glue is very strong and really works with ABS!
