How could such a bad product be made?

It so happened that I have all Grundfos pumps in my house. This includes a DHW circulation pump and heating system circulation pumps (underfloor heating and radiators) and a boiler loading pump and even a condensate drain pump from a condensing boiler. And all these pumps work like a Swiss watch. But after the installation of water treatment (softening and reverse osmosis), the issue of raising the pressure in the water supply system became acute (water comes from the water supply system of the village with a pressure of about 2 atm.). And as usual, I bought SCALA2 without hesitation. Bought and installed in early May. From May to December, she worked peacefully and quietly in the boiler room, I even forgot about her existence. But on the first day of winter, an RCD responsible for the cold water line and DHW circulation worked in the electrical panel (I found out only because the DHW circulation was gone). I go into the boiler room and see the entire floor under a layer of water, having β€œdived” I determined the source of this scourge and it turned out to be SCALA2. From the lower part (where there are two gratings) a trickle of water oozed. Of course, I did not expect such a trick from Grundfos, apparently the quality of their products went down. After fixing the flood, I surfed the internet and realized that I was far from alone with this problem. As I understood from what I read, the problem is in the stuffing box separating the section of the pump and the electric motor. It (the stuffing box) leaks, after which water floods the motor windings (that's why the RCD was knocked out of me) and begins to flow out of the case through the ventilation grilles. Whoever chooses this pump, do not even take it for nothing, or it will flood everything around or kill it with current (if there is no grounding and RCD). Tomorrow I'm going to the seller, I will try to pass this misunderstanding.

Pros
  • Quiet, accurately holds pressure, excellent pressure and performance.
Cons
  • Unsuccessful indication of the pressure setting (it was possible to sign, rather than block, a combination of LEDs). Loud clicking sound when turned on. Surprisingly low quality for such an expensive brand.
