This item is fine if you only use it for the sound. I bought it to use with my iPhone 6 but I only get audio from the headset. The microphone does not transmit your voice to the phone, instead the phone continues to use its own microphone. I have confirmed this with Plantronics. The correct cable to buy if you plan to use it with your iPhone is part number 38541-02. It has a right angle connector and is recommended for use with cell phones such as the iPhone and Blackberry.
