If you look closely at this connector you will see that this is not a TRRS connector, so you only get the mic or the audio, not both. I only got one mic when I paired it with a Plantronics Supra headset and my HTC M8. Also, the internal wiring is also only configured for one of those paths, so trying to solder your own TRRS connector is a lot harder than just buying the right connector (you'll have to re-solder it from scratch).

I am a nationwide consultant and use a headset all day. About 5 months ago I got a herniated disc and I'm sitting in a deck chair at home waiting for an operation. This little extension gave me the freedom to use my Plantronics Dueling headset with my mobile phone. My clients don't know the difference and it's much more convenient than holding a phone to your ear. Great price, great service, great product

This cable allows you to connect your headset to your phone and the headphones will work properly. However, there will be no microphone. Do not buy from this seller. The cable you need (if you want to use headphones and a mic) looks similar, but the silver part of the connector has 3 wires instead of two (see the black rings on the silver part?). As far as I can tell, Revain doesn't have a suitable adapter, so you'll have to look elsewhere on the web. Damn.

Great product for those living under a headset. I use this cable along with a splitter between my handset and headset to listen to music when not on a call. Along with phone system/cloud PBX management software, starting a call pauses music playback on my computer. YMMV with this part but this thing is great. It also allows me to connect a Plantronics headset to my iPhone and take and make calls while walking around the office.

This item is fine if you only use it for the sound. I bought it to use with my iPhone 6 but I only get audio from the headset. The microphone does not transmit your voice to the phone, instead the phone continues to use its own microphone. I have confirmed this with Plantronics. The correct cable to buy if you plan to use it with your iPhone is part number 38541-02. It has a right angle connector and is recommended for use with cell phones such as the iPhone and Blackberry.
