When my old flat screen started getting dusty, I figured I should get a touchscreen because Windows 8, which is touch-optimized, is coming out this fall, and I figured I'd kick myself if I *didn't* have touch Screen. This monitor was reasonably priced, had a decent resolution, and had good reviews, so I gave it a try. Picture quality is good, no complaints. The monitor itself looks great on the desktop. Touch works in Windows 7, but the precision of a thick finger isn't as accurate as a mouse. I'm using Windows 8 Preview in a virtual machine. The touch function also works there, albeit a bit sluggishly, probably due to the launch in the VM. At some point I will build a dedicated Windows 8 machine and then we will see how it works. In terms of touch, it's a 2-point touch monitor. I see where Planar just released a multi-touch monitor for double the price, it's definitely not multi-touch and this monitor should not be confused with a screen on a smartphone or tablet, it's out of league. Like the two-finger touchscreen in Windows 7, it's fairly new and I really don't use the touchscreen that much. I've seen that it can be useful at the point of sale or in the kitchen, but it's not necessary for a regular desktop. Although the picture is good.
