5/8 " is actually 1/2 "
Despite good construction and strength, the 1/2" pin causes the gate to dangle freely when the top hinge pin is rotated and the bottom Hinge swings out.Of course I had to hang the gate the day I discovered the error so I used these pins.I ordered a different brand and now enjoy paying twice and hanging the gate twice.
