Review on RCA VR5340 800-Hour Digital Voice Recorder with Full-Color Display - Enhanced for SEO by John Rodriguez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A good voice recorder, but newer, more compact and modern models are better suited for voice recording, MP3, FM radio and audio playback.

This recorder works and records for a long time with three recording quality settings (which directly affect recording time). The voice activation feature is also good, but requires a STRONG signal to activate voice recording. Basically, you have to talk to him directly to activate the auto recording feature. If you're using this to have casual conversations, it's best to just leave a record. Although this product works and is useful for recording, it is quite large like a microphone as shown in the picture so not very discreet for everyday use to record surrounding conversations but suitable for personal dictation. Also, recording is rather clunky on long playback and only slightly less so on the standard recording setup. Battery life is acceptable for general dictation. All of this to say that I found a better, even more modern RCA voice recorder at my local Target store for about $37 that has less recording noise, runs on just one AAA battery and lasts about 8 hours continuously keeps, and also FM has radio recording function and excellent sound quality for MP3. I strongly recommend using a more modern and compact RCA recorder instead of this model. It's much nicer.
