This feeder is a horizontally rotating drum into which you put your feed. When it spins, the food squirts out. You get one spin per activation. You can activate it with a button on your device, in an app, or with Alexa. It has a large footprint, so using it on a large tank is probably best. We have it on a 5 gallon cap, which is a bit much. Our top closes completely, so we had to change that. This may or may not be a problem for you. It comes with a bracket that can be used to attach to the side of the aquarium. I decided to glue it directly to the top of the tank. You can adjust the opening the feed comes out of to feed more or less. We have one fish that uses pellets and another tank has fish that eat flakes. Feeders work on both. I hate the smell of fish food though, so being able to feed my aquatic friends from another room (or another country) without smelling it is awesome. gets a job. It's not perfect, but the ability to create treatments with Alexa and feed fish remotely was enough to warrant buying a second one for the aforementioned second tank. Of course you should check on your fish, especially before you leave town. We even attached a fish cam to our camera to make sure everyone is fed. Yes, and the app keeps a feed log. We just got back to town after a week in Florida and it was great! It was also nice not to disturb a friend who came to feed the fish every day.
