In the first photo is my old handle (photo 1). It went 50,000 miles, broke down, was half missing and was taped repaired. I cut and tore it. I replaced it with this product. Now I will remove this product and return the old one because it is better. I'm going to cut them open and use the rubber as a prop, then crush the metal part in a vise as a humanitarian aid so no one is tempted to use it as a motorcycle grip in the future. The new grip does not fit under the switch housing like the factory grips (Fig. 2). It's clearly unassembled (I took it apart and tried anyway just to be sure) so there isn't a proper seal in the switch housing and it can now collect dirt and moisture ruining it. This could be mitigated if the handle could be attached very tightly to the body of the switch, which is not possible as it is too loose and the rubber has to be compressed to fit snugly against the body, forcing the handle against the Body. (Photo 2) - The handlebar is too long for the handlebar (Photo 3). He stands out. That may be good, but where there is no handlebar at the end of the grip, the rubber falls into the void. (Fig. 4) - The grip is too weak. It randomly slides onto the steering wheel and needs to be glued (video 1). You actually have to squeeze the switch housing to keep it sealed, as the slightly deformed rubber insert pushes it away from the housing as the glue dries. The rubber is so soft it's sure to get sticky once the sun hits it. It wears out very quickly. Rubber bladders do not go around the perimeter of the handle. There is a "flat" spot on the two polar sides. This flat spot makes the grip comfortable to hold in one position, but very uncomfortable at 90 degrees. The left handle can be adjusted to a comfortable orientation and held there. But the throttle side has to rotate, going from comfortable to uncomfortable and back as you steer the bike. This causes you to subconsciously place your hand in a comfortable position instead of controlling the speed. The grips are large enough that they can get in the way of your clutch lever when the flat side isn't facing the lever, making the grip narrower. where the lever is pressed. This is not the most comfortable grip position in the hand. - Loved the rivet finish and the fact that it has no chrome, it's cheap, it was in stock and it was delivered top notch. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. I would have happily paid more for quality grips or even OEM grips but it has been very difficult to find suitable grips in stock anywhere and all they sell now are universal sets. I was also looking for more grip this offers except for those flat areas. - No discernible production or quality problems. Sportster XL1200R 2006
