I ordered this to replace a fluorescent light because I thought it would Make water sparkle consume less electricity. I wanted blue moonlights because I thought it would look good. However, if I had to do it again I don't think I would spend the money to replace my fluorescent light bulb. White LEDs are not as bright as my fluorescent lights. I need to add another LED strip to make it brighter, which costs more money than I've already spent. but I'm impressed that you have the ability to add more light. I like that the LEDs bring the blue to life in the aquarium. The aqua background looks aqua instead of dirty blue again. I was hoping for the fish colors to get brighter as well, but I only see a slight change so I'm hoping a different LED light will help. The blue moonlight isn't very bright and it's hard to see anything with it. Before I got the new LED light, my moonlights were nothing more than LED strips in the kitchen under the counter. I install it on the tank glass. It's dimmable so I left it on the minimum overnight. Pisces love this light, it must be very similar to real moonlight because when I turn it on they relax. They slowly begin to swim underneath and swim near the surface. They dissolve completely. I turned on the light with a timer to simulate the cycles of the moon. But this new blue "moonlight" in this new lamp had no such effect on them, they even seemed a little excited. Maybe if I add a red stripe to warm it up it will be closer to real moonlight. By using sliding risers, the light gets too high above the glass, causing too much glare on the glass and water. Removing the risers helped.
