These cargo shorts are great with an elastic waistband. They are light to medium weight and have all the pockets (cargo style) you would expect. Pulled up above the waist they hung there, but my 40s were a bit loose and for everyday wear out of the house you might need a belt. If I had taken size 38 the elastic would have held up better and as I am struggling to lose weight the size I wear may be too large in the context of a beltless solution. . However, they look and feel good and have plenty of pockets.
