Too big for long and cropped hair. Curls depend on the size of the curlers (and the duration of their use). Curls don't stay put even when set with hairspray. Bought additional reels as there were only 8 in the set for $110 plus tax, these two reels are about $20 plus tax. Hair has to be dry to the bone to even barely work. Can buy twice as many reels that are small enough to work (various brands here at Revain) for half or less the price e.g
