After the flush lever on our Mansfield toilet broke, I looked to Lowe's and Home Depot for a replacement. The Lowe had a spare, but it was a generic Mansfield spare that was too long (I cut it with a hacksaw) and didn't have the right flex so I couldn't properly tighten the nut holding it to the tank . This resulted in the toilet not draining properly and the cistern lever becoming weaker over time. Frustrated I searched the internet for the right part and that led me to number 40 for sale here. It fits perfectly (correct length and curvature) and the toilet flush has been working normally ever since. A few additional things I learned: the nut that attaches the flush lever to the cistern is reverse threaded, your Mansfield toilet number and date of manufacture are usually stamped on the underside of the cistern lid, a broken flush lever is often due to a bad one flush seal. (easily interchangeable) and there are many great videos on YouTube showing how to maintain Mansfield toilets. Hope this helps someone else! Happy washing.
