I bought it for use at home, on the terrace and in the garden. I know it's a portable model to take to parks, events, the beach, etc. but for me at home it's perfect. I live alone, have a small porch and also like to sit in different places in the yard. I wanted something I could easily move around in the shade while sitting outside and reading. A big, heavy patio model really wouldn't work for this, so it seemed like the perfect choice. As long as I like it! It's exactly what I expected and I'll be using it all summer. I feel that what I got for what I paid is totally proportionate. The material is admittedly thin, but that's to be expected given the low price. There is a manufacturing defect on mine, the seam around one of the edge flaps was misstitched and altered, so this flap is a bit sloppy. But it's well stitched now, so I don't care. The material, while thin, has a colored outside (red in my case) and the inside of the fabric is a reflective silver-grey, which I think helps a lot with sun protection and keeping you cool underneath. It's small, 5 feet smaller than it looks when you read about it and to be clear, it's 5 feet for the ENTIRE open diameter. My chaise longue, which is larger than a portable chaise longue, doesn't fit completely under it when I'm sitting next to a pole. But I can position it better by tucking my foot under a chair or moving it to where it needs to be depending on where the sun is. So it's not big, but it's ok for my use. The more, the more difficult and uncomfortable to move. Because it's smaller, I can easily pick it up and move it to a new location without covering the top or legs. However, it is still firmly in place and has not yet been deflated. It was very easy to put together, if that's the word. Open the legs, install this part, then insert the umbrella stand, lock it, and that's it. It sits flat on my patio and feels very stable. It has a ventilated top to protect it from the wind, although I keep it closed when not in use but leave it on deck. Hooks and coasters are surprisingly convenient. The coasters have a mesh bottom that dries quickly when wet. Since I use this at home, my regular coffee mug certainly won't fit in a cup holder, but it's perfect for water bottles or glasses. I use them to put my reading glasses and a pen or other small items I have in them. Haven't used it in very windy conditions yet but I think hanging towels or a beach bag on hooks will help weigh it down if wind is an issue. I haven't tried it, but it seems logical. It comes with a nice sturdy carry case with an outside pocket for small items like hooks and drink holders. All in one suitcase is not very heavy and easy to take anywhere, to the beach, to the park, to events. I love that it folds up like a parasol but can be detached and easily stored in a bag. I don't have a lot of storage space so putting it away for the season will be great. It probably won't last very long for my everyday use at home, but the price is right and it serves my purpose. I have no reason not to recommend this unless you have very high standards and want a quality umbrella, in which case you should expect a lot more. I think this is a great and inexpensive way to get a quick and wearable shade!
