So I read the reviews on these fobs and saw that some people are having trouble programming them. When I first read the instructions on RemoteRemote.com I thought this was the culmination of a very funny prank. To put your Toyota into programming mode you have to go through a precise process: inserting and removing keys, opening and closing driver's door, turning keys on and off, closing and reopening door, etc. I kept checking the mirrors to see is anyone watching while I was programming my key fobs in the gym parking lot! .lol good. My first three attempts were unsuccessful. The door locks did not switch automatically to indicate that the truck was in programming mode. THEN I realized I had a duplicate key and not the original key with the Toyota logo on it. sooo I rummaged through my bag. Found my original key. Got through the whole process and it worked! My guess is that the original key has a chip in it that needs to be used for this process. I now have 2 working keychains for less than $20. really fun and great! I would like to receive programming sequences from other manufacturers (Toyota). For example, a YouTube video shows the process of programming key fobs but mentions a way to program a truck with new key fobs while removing all the old ones! This can be as simple as turning the key to the on/off position twice (as opposed to once in the recommended procedure). But you have no official guides. I hope this helps, and hopefully the manufacturer advises using one of the manufacturer's original keys for programming.
