They appear to be medium weight but definitely not very heavy. The 92% cotton fabric is nice and thick and also durable, but feels soft and they fit me very well. I am very impressed with her contoured neckline. The pockets are flat and beautifully designed to disappear when empty. *The waistband* of this garment is one piece of the same fabric, five inches wide, and with the same stretch as the rest of the garment, so my tummy doesn't tighten due to the tighter waist, even when I bend forward during a workout. I ordered honey. because I don't like the compression or the tight fit. I have washed them on a tepid cycle with many items and tumble dried on low with many items. I didn't measure before and after, but I have the impression that they have shrunk a bit, but I rate them as perfect. I could probably run a size small (5ft 4in, 120lbs, muscular legs and hips). I wear them mainly for sports whenever it's cool at home. happy customer
