Review on Sew Mini Treats Plushies by Klutz by Corey Owens

Great craft kit, also for adults

I've loved Klutz since I was a child and they make a great starting point for crafts, even for adults (if I'm not mistaken). Adults have enough whimsy to enjoy a child-friendly approach). This was a great kit for me as someone who has sewn in the past (but not at an advanced level) and is new to working with felt and embroidery floss. I find the application process described here easy and very relaxing; It's great when accompanied by a good podcast, audio book, etc. There are some really strong materials in this kit - feels thick and strong enough to sew safely and embroidery floss that compares to fancy stuff for my beginners. The included needles are sharp enough for sewing. The stencils are also durable. There are a few points where the explanation of the techniques is a bit lacking (I can't figure out how to tie a finishing knot in a fancy way using her instructions), but overall not bad. pretty good. The first project goes in depth, and all subsequent projects are much shorter because they assume you sewed that donut first to get familiar with the process; This can turn off some people or frustrate more impatient kids who want to cook their favorite dishes first. I definitely recommend this set if you find it interesting. (I also suggest looking into embroidery stitches to give your stuffed animals more panache!)

Pros
  • Includes 9 colors of felt, 32 yards of yarn, 2 embroidery needles, 1 oz. Polyester filling, 19 paper patterns, 60 pre-cut felt eyes and cheeks
Cons
