It's not designed for continuous use, which means you can't use it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week because the small fan inside will get louder over time before stopping completely. Aside from the selection buttons on the front of the charger, this is the only moving part. I bought it as a backup battery charger for continuous use, but after 6 months the fan started making noise. Last week, after the 1-year warranty expired, the fan stopped working at all, even though it was charged normally. I had a spare CPU fan (12V DC) that was the same thickness as the defective one, but since it was about 2 square inches instead of 1.5 square inches, there was barely enough room for it to fit in the case. I couldn't install it using the holes the old fan came out of, so I "melted" it and closed the case. So far nothing is making any noise and it works perfectly. I will be looking for a direct replacement fan in the near future. The selector switches, one for 6 or 12 volts and the other for 2, 4 or 6 amps, worked fine. Overall, this charger is acceptable for casual use with the included fan. It would be bigger if it had a bigger, higher quality fan.
