These wheels are much better than the plastic wheels that came with the original plasma machine. It definitely offers a smoother ride so I'm glad I bought it. The main reason I bought these wheels is because the original wheels were very slow on the pavement. My 4 year old son seemed very frustrated with the lack of speed. We hoped the polyurethane wheels would help it go a lot faster. This increased the speed a bit, but not enough to make driving the plasma car in the open air really enjoyable. The car will also simply stop at any small crack, bump or bump in the pavement. If you want to buy a plasma car, you should know that this toy only works really well on absolutely smooth, even surfaces. It doesn't get much better with new wheels. Also in a YouTube video showing how to install new wheels, when the person in the video turns the wheels by hand, the wheels spin very quickly. After installing our new wheels, the front wheels turn quickly, while the rear wheels turn much slower and stop very quickly, despite the correct installation of the wheels. This seems misleading.
