The perfect solution for us

When we decided to upgrade to a 65 inch screen, we knew we had some problems to solve. First of all, it was a huge size - we were concerned that a screen of this size would overload the room, despite having a fairly large living room. We were pleasantly surprised it didn't, but we knew from the start that it would actually clutter up the chassis we were using for our previous TV. It just wasn't wide enough to fit a 65-inch screen, and we were concerned about stability too, even when it did fit. It was clear that the TV needed a separate stand and wanted something as simple and unobtrusive as possible. This stand is exactly what we envisioned - no extra shelves or anything - just a straight, adjustable stand. It is much more durable than you would expect from the photos. The base is really clean and beautiful - and a lot bigger than it appears in the pictures. My original intention was to mount the base on our existing console and lower it to the highest possible height so it was about six inches above the console surface. As I assembled it, it became clear that this shouldn't be the case since the lowest height we could set it to was more than a foot above the console's surface. So I went to plan B, placing the stand directly behind the console and adjusting the height to 31 inches so it was hovering five inches above our console. Excellent! Assembly was no more difficult than expected considering the considerable weight and bulk you are dealing with - this is definitely a two person operation. Instructions were sparse but adequate and we had no problems. The stand is very versatile; We could put the TV a little higher if we wanted, but we think the height is perfect for us. It's hard for me to imagine a situation where you can't position this stand to be the perfect height for your viewing habits. but with the various cables needed to connect the device. The stand's hollow stem is great for hiding cords, but we've found that when connected to a 65-inch TV, many of the cords are too short to travel the distance required to (a) back of the stand (b) walk down the stand height and then (c) run to where they need to be connected. Luckily we have a wireless system so the only cables we had to hide were the power cord and the cable to connect our DVR. Our TCL is a Roku Smart TV, so we didn't even have to connect a Roku. Even so, the power cord barely lasted for the road, so we had to push the extension cord right into the base of the stand to be able to plug it in. As for the stand itself, there are no complaints. general. Too bad it's almost completely invisible due to the way we set it up. The glossy glass base is impressive and it looks really good in combination with the matte black finish of the handle. We give him our highest recommendation.
