Review on πŸš€ Enhanced Performance Unleashed: DJI Mavic Pro Platinum Revealed by Keize Barraza

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very impressed with the overall package of this quad.

This item is fantastic. As a seasoned quad pilot I've owned several vintage Phantoms and a few home built quads and nothing quite compares to it in terms of sophistication and technology in a small package. The processing quality is impeccable. The amount of engineering that must have gone into this ATV is very impressive. All moving parts are tightly toleranced and easy to operate. There's a lot of aluminum in this ATV. I work in the sheet metal industry and I can tell straight away that all four arms are aluminum which explains their rigidity despite being so thin. Most of the hull is also aluminum and there is a large heatsink at the bottom of the ship which can get quite hot. There are internal fans to keep the SoC and radio cool, as well as numerous vents in the aluminum main body. This Platinum version is incredibly quiet compared to my other quads. No loud screeches or high-pitched hums commonly associated with brushless motors and the ESCs that control them. Just the gentle banging of props, this is the quietest prop with the most unique design I've ever come across. There are YouTube videos that illustrate this better than I can put into words. I am airborne for about 26+ minutes in slow flight which is also better than my other quads. The thing practically flies itself if you want it to. The quality and range of its video stream (Occusync) sets it apart from its competitors and honestly nothing can match it at the moment. There is (very) little delay compared to pure analogue signals, so I don't recommend racing with it (which isn't the main purpose), but as a trade-off you don't get static in your video stream and anywhere else 720p to 1080p resolution ( your choice) up to 4+ miles without interference or obstacles. Since they have always flown with analog signals before, this is almost unknown. This is a very portable flying camera platform that folds up and fits into a small camera shoulder bag. The Mavic has its own black box on board to record flight data (which you have access to) in case something goes wrong. crooked in flight. I immediately extracted multiple flight data from it before even charging a battery, meaning the manufacturer flew my quad many times for testing and quality control before I even received it. This gives me peace of mind that my quadcopter is a quality piece and should be worth flying when I need it. You get access to firmware updates. The DJI Go 4 software works well on my Galaxy S7 and I personally haven't had any real issues with it, despite what other reviewers have mentioned. So far there have been no crashes or app shutdowns. While easy enough to fly, I strongly DO NOT recommend this ATV for beginners. This is a PROsumer product (it even goes by the Mavic Pro name), which means it's very much aimed at enthusiasts who already have a lot of knowledge about flying expensive camera platforms. There are hundreds of different settings to learn and work with, and unless you know the details and are tech savvy, some of these settings can result in a VERY costly crash. Even the camera gimbal is extremely delicate and a tiny, fragile mechanism that requires care. I see it as the first thing that falls into bad hands. My Opinion: Learn to fly cheaper, less complicated ATVs first. Learn to steer and get used to flying and adjusting the ATV's attitude without the aid of GPS and manual controls. Learn about how quads work and the technology behind them so you can recover quickly from any situation that may arise during flight. You'll thank me later, trust me.
