Review on 💿 Vantec 2.5" SATA SSD to USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C Enclosure - Pocket Size, Silver by Marco Habersham

I installed a brand new 2TB Samsung 860 EVO SSD in it and it was extremely unstable. It would randomly disconnect or freeze while copying a file or a test, and when it did the only way to recover was to disconnect and reconnect. I've tried several different USB cables (new and old are known to be good cables) and several different USB ports on my PC (front and back) and this case never worked properly. The hard drive works perfectly in the case from another manufacturer. I've been using Vantec products for over 15 years and I don't recall ever getting DOA products from them. Unfortunately, this isn't the only new Vantec HDD enclosure to drop out in 2021, so I'm concerned Vantec's quality may slip.
