I usually leave my chargers plugged in to keep my battery going. However, since all of these chargers say they support the battery, I figured why bother with it. Just let the charger back up my small 12 volt battery for my alternator. Well one day I looked at the charger and there was no light. I tried plugging it in somewhere else and it was dead. Assuming there was a power surge and the battery charger got hit, would you think that would be the only electrical component that could handle the surge in the line? Nothing in my house has failed except this charger. I am not buying the result as this is a weak electrical unit. waste of money.
